FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} C. to BJ. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} EAC.10. INDUCTION PIPE. X7070 X7080 We send you herewith a blueprint of LeC. 2526., dealing with the above. This design is not complete but shews nevertheless how the present Phantom carburetter goes in on EAC.10. We thought it desirable to rough out an adaption of the present carburetter, with a view to seeing what alterations were required to obtain a neat arrangement. The modification to the throttle and bend saves about 1.5" on the width. With the carburetter in the position shewn the air valve can be comfortably removed, and there is reasonable clearance with the steering box. The controls for the mixture and throttle require one or two drastic alterations to suit, but there appears to be no reason why these cannot be satisfactorily arranged.
