X.4383 - GOSHAWKAero EngineCodename for 20HP Car / Aero Engine after KestrelAero Engine DYNAMOS+ We have just handed to you dynamo No.625 which is fitted with a cast iron end plate. You will remember we found this dynamo to be still noisy when tried on a chassis, in spite of the cast iron end bracket. We have demonstrated to you the existence of some irregularity in the magnetic circuit which causes a definite pull every commutator segment, when the field circuit only is excited, whereas on the other machines the drag is more uniform. Will you kindly have this dynamo tried for dis-symmetry in the arrangement of poles and armature. We are also now sending to you our E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} dynamo, together with spare armature, and we should be glad if you would have this machine made up to date, using the spare armature now sent.
