Please deal with this Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Expt'l Dept. Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Limited, DERBY: 17th October, 1936. Dear Sirs, SPECIAL STEERING ROLLER ASSEMBLIES: We thank you for your valued communication of the 15th instant, in answer to ours of the 13th instant, and note that our quotation for Steering Roller Assemblies to our B.9828 is being filed by you for future reference. We also note that you would like us to quote you for the later type in batches of 200, taking into account the fact that the various material and partly finished parts will be supplied by you, and we are therefore assuming that you are referring to the roller assemblies as shown on your drawing F.61285, which were the subject of your letter of the 14th instant asking us to quote you for 100 sets, and also reminding us that we were to put these 100 sets in hand immediately. The quotation is receiving our attention, and we would also point out that our temporary working drawings are already completed, while further, we have received the material from the Adamant Engineering Company for manufacturing these rollers. We would remind you, however, that you promised to forward the specification of the bar steel in question, together with full particulars of the heat treatment, [Handwritten in left margin:] Thought this had been sent Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
