RE40/50 SIDE WHEEL CARRIERS.

Mr Royce does not like the idea of using a special trough to control the wheel from vibrating about a vertical axis as there is is always the danger of this feature being omitted. We therefore send you N.Sch.2015. shewing the carrier tube thickened up to give it increased torsional rigidity so that the only work done by the running-board is to carry the weight of the wheel and the usual trough can be used in which the wheel only contacts in one point at the centre.

We would be glad if you could make up a set of these carriers for 7.EX. MrRoyce's car and also replace those on any other car if you think advisable.

In the course of a short while we propose to set out a design of carrier somewhat on the lines of those fitted by the coachbuilders but before we launch into this we would like to see if we cannot make a success of our own scheme.

To save time the head-piece can be made an alum. casting.
