TELEPHONE: GLADSTONE 6671-2 SMITH'S JACKING SYSTEMS LTD. DIRECTORS: A.{Mr Adams} GORDON SMITH, CHAIRMAN. D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} W. SESSIONS, GENERAL MANAGER. C. W. NICHOLS. R.{Sir Henry Royce} G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} SMITH. EDGWARE ROAD - CRICKLEWOOD - LONDON, N.W.2 - 2 - Messrs.Rolls-Royce Ltd. 29th March, 1939 cap should then be screwed down tightly. We do not encourage the re-filling of these jacks by the customer, as they invariably use the wrong type of fluid which results in serious trouble later on. As a matter of fact, unless the jacks have developed a leak it should never be necessary to replenish the fluid, as the design provides for no air escape or inlet which, in other jacks, create a great deal of trouble. If a jack is found to be leaking, this means there is some structural fault which should be corrected by the makers, and the addition of further fluid will not remedy this defect. We are happy to say, however, that this practically never occurs. If, of course, you consider it necessary we could provide a filler in the top of the container, but this part would necessitate welding or brazing which we are afraid would mean an increase in price. We shall look forward to your further comments and regret very much indeed that you have been inconvenienced by the non-operation of the Jack. Yours faithfully, For SMITH'S JACKING SYSTEMS LIMITED.
