TUNGSTEN POINTS.

We hand you herewith two small envelopes, one containing three tungsten tipped steel rivets, and one containing three tungsten tipped steel ignition contact point screws. Both of these have been sent to us by the L.P.S. Electrical Co. for experimental test.

In the case of the tungsten tipped rivets, would you please have these fitted to three battery ignition contact breaker lever blanks, after which the blanks should be duly completed in a similar manner to that requested in our EFC3/T21.3.28 dealing with tungsten points from the Tungsten Mfg. Co., and handed back to us for experimental test.

In the case of the tungsten tipped screws you will notice that these are not the R.R. standard. We think however that it will be possible to turn and rethread these to the R.R. standard, and we shall be glad if you will do this, if possible. If you decide that this is not possible, then there will be no object in carrying out the first portion of the instructions contained in this note.

In the letter from the L.P.S. Electrical Co. they have suggested that we ourselves fit these, saying further "You will find no difficulty in doing so, as the shank of the rivet and the base of the head are made of steel. Please, however, be careful not to tap the face of the contact or to grip roughly the tungsten section at the sides. The best way to fix the contact into the lever would be to spin it in."

You will see that this agrees with the recommendation of the Tungsten Manfg. Co. though I do not think we have any means of doing this spinning ourselves.
