Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}5/H18.7.24. the C.S.C. certainly think you ought to have an opportunity of approving Barkers latest pattern wheel carrier and so that you may do this we have arranged with Barkers for them to replace one of the existing sets of wheel carriers on the experimental department's car No.98-NK. which is now in their hands with a set of the new type of carrier and this they are doing. When the car returns to you perhaps you will examine the wheel carrier and arrange for its behaviour to be studied while the car is in use. As you probably know it is considered that the Company should be in a position to offer a spare wheel carrier, which whilst being lighter, stronger and neater than those used by many Coachbuilders, should be free from the faults which are only too common with Coachbuilders efforts and we are hoping that your observations of the two varying types of Barker Wheel Carriers, will give you some grounds on which to base a suitable design for us to recommend.
