1158 Experimental Department Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.10/AP. 12th July 1937 Messrs Clayton Dewandre Co.Ltd., Titanic Works, LINCOLN. For the attention of Mr.S.E.Willett. Dear Sirs, We have received your letter of the 9th inst., and thank you for the test figures contained therein, also your offer to carry out further car heater tests. We will forward the car heaters to you as soon as they are available. With regard to the other problem on which the writer requested your advice - it appears that you have misunderstood the nature of the problem since the data sheets sent are for oil cooling. Actually it is required to cool the cooling water of the engine in question by means of sea water - the cooling water circuit being a closed one. However, attached sheet gives as much corresponding data as is available. As you suggest, when you have completed the car heater tests, the writer will make an appointment to come over to your works and discuss the car heater question generally. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
