Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}3/KW.27.5.35.

We are glad to see that you have managed to get running again.

The disappearance of the rivets is rather mysterious but they were certainly sent off from this end.

With regard to your connecting rods, we found that the fitters themselves did not know there was a right and a wrong way round for the connecting rods, so that it is almost certain that you got some of the bearings the wrong way round. We recommend that you take the rods out and make sure that they are all correctly fitted. We are going to send some more rods out to you with double tabs, which will prevent any possibility of mistake. Furthermore, we are going to produce some strip bearings that are slightly thicker than the present ones, and strengthen up the connecting rods to suit. We may send these rods out complete with a new crankshaft.

If the car is still running Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} and I are proposing to arrive in Paris on Monday evening next, June 3rd, and should like you to bring the car up to Paris early on Tuesday morning. We will then run down to Chateauroux with you and stay the night, and possibly the next day run over to the coast.
