Dear Sirs,

Thank you for your letter of December 16th. addressed to Mr.Leslie. We are not in a position at the moment to ask you to come over and see an engine running so that you can design a crankshaft damper for it. At the moment, all our dampers are inside the wheelcase and therefore run submerged in oil.

We shall, in the future, be experimenting with an external damper and shall then ask you to design one on the lines of the Cadillac for test on one of our engines.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
