re Bentley Brakes.

Referring to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}8/E.3.12.34, the drawings for 14" brake drums on the Bentley which are 2" larger in diameter than the standard drums have been issued for some considerable time. I imagine that Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} has at the back of his mind the fading away trouble, as he constantly says that Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} experiences brake fading troubles on high speed runs, and arrives in Derby from London with no brakes.

It seems to me that the only possible answer is to make and try the larger drums, even if they are heavier to demonstrate, if there is any benefit.

We know that Hall did very well in the Ulster, but then his drums were well exposed and much better cooled than a chassis fitted with present day standard coachwork, in which the wheels are almost completely enveloped.
