X8992. Experimental Dept., Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd. Derby. April 11th,1930. Dear Mr. Royce, I need hardly say how relieved and gratified I feel to hear that you are making progress towards normal health. It has been agreed that Mr. Elliott and myself will bring the first left-hand car to France. We are arranging to cross over on Tuesday the 22nd., and it has been arranged that Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} will wire us after he has seen you, whether we shall proceed at once to Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence. As regards the job, it is fortunate that we had a good programme of modern, up-to-date cars and aero engines to proceed with. A brief resume of the position from the Experimental point of view is as follows :- PHANTOM 11. The success of the Phantom 11 is remarkable. This is especially gratifying when one considers that a large percentage of Phantom 11 owners have previously owned R.R. cars, and the fact that they are emphatic of the Phantom 11 over any previous model should be a source of great satisfaction. No fresh troubles have cropped up which were not anticipated. We have had one customer, Sir Henry Segrave, complain of the jellying of the radiator. | ||
