X.4432 - BUSHES FOR VALVE GUIDES

The chief cause of poor slow runningon the 40/50 engine is caused by wear in valve guides and to a less degree on valves.

At the present time, when the valve guides are worn it means reamering out the guides in the cylinders and supplying and fitting new valves. This is a job which means special tools and skilled mechanics.

If we fit detachable bushes, in many cases the bushes can be replaced and the car made satisfactory with no attention to the valves. Also, the job can be done by a chauffeur.

We are sure that the saving in cost will be considerable and also cars can be kept in a better condition without having to be sent to the Works or our Depots.
