TO ALL CONCERNED. Mr. Percy Northey has, in view of forthcoming developments, asked that there might be a re-arrangement of some of his many and varied duties and responsibilities in order that he may have time to devote to special work of great importance. A new Department will, therefore, be created somewhere about the middle of June, to report to the administration on the quality of chassis which have already been produced and delivered to Sales by the Works in accordance with approved specifications and which are part of the regular output of the Works. This new Department will test cars used by Inspectors, demonstration cars used by selling representatives and standard chassis delivered by Works to Sales. An engineer will shortly be joining the Company who will be the head of this department and will be known as 'The Sales Critic of Standard Chassis.' In the event of a difference of opinion between the new Sales Testing Department and the Works Testing Department on the quality of standard chassis, either department will have the right to refer the difference to the administration who will request Mr. Northey to give his opinion thereon in order to assist the administration in arriving at a final judgement. Mr. Northey will continue to be the engineering adviser to the administration as to the suitability from a sales point of view of alterations, improvements or innovations on which the Experimental Department at Derby may be engaged with a view to their standardisation in forthcoming production. Mr. Northey will continue to be responsible for the condition of London demonstration cars and for London demonstration drivers and the demonstration car garage. CJ.
