Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X4555 PN{Mr Northey}2/DN/31.10.22. TO R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to BJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} FROM PN.{Mr Northey} RE DIMMER. I am delighted to read from your R2/M28.10.22 that you consider in the present state of knowledge, the dipping head-light to be the best method to employ for meeting the various conditions arising at night. With this method, I think the wisdom of having rather bright side lights is doubtful, and in any case these, if at all bright, should be deflected downwards, otherwise I find from recent experience on the road, even after a car may have dowsed its glim, the strength and angle of the side lights are of a nature to be very embarrassing. I never did like the dimming switch with its wiring etc. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} PN.{Mr Northey} RECEIVED 1 1922 | ||
