Cut-Out on 24EX (L.H P.II)

The cut-out points on this car showed signs of burning after about 4000 miles. After 4800 miles the cut-out was removed and the points trimmed and tested OK prior to 10000 mile test. After the 10000 mile test (at 15900 miles) the points were in fairly good condition but soon again showed signs of burning until at 17000 miles they have become very bad. The cut-out has therefore been removed and new points fitted and tested.

It seems possible that the high output of the dynamo has been largely responsible for the failure of these contacts & conversely that the condition of the contacts has helped to produce the
