Vulture Speedometer and Tachometer.

We have asked Messrs. A.T. Speedometer Co.Limited. to supply to Derby a speedometer and tachometer like the standard Bentley but with gear ratios to suit the Vulture.

The ratios which we have given them are wrong and Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. has agreed to give them the correct ratios, the cable length and particulars of the cable ends. We know the drive ratio for the speedometer to suit the separate gearbox which is being fitted at the moment.

We do not wish to use the tachometer drive such as has been fitted to several customers Phantoms as it runs at 1 1/2 engine speed.

We remember that you suggested the use of a right angle reduction gear bringing the cable speed down to about 1/2 engine speed, and we would like to have this on Vulture.

We would be glad if you could tell us whether you can give us a design for this, and what the ratio will be finally so that we can instruct the instrument.
