Shipping Office. Yl. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/ML.20.3.40. With reference to the letter from the R.A.C. dated 18th. March, I have wired Sr. for the necessary invoices on the body. I do not understand the statement made in the letter which I have underlined in red because it is no good Mr. Armstrong assuring us that the chassis could not have been imported without the body when in fact this event has already taken place. I suggest that the R.A.C. representatives realised there would be a lot of complication if the question of the body being missing was emphasized and therefore they got the tacit agreement of the Customs officials to overlook a somewhat curious procedure.
