Re. Chassis 82-AL. Clifford Turner, Esq.

The new type lower rated front springs were fitted to this car at N. last Thursday, together with stronger rear springs to overcome a complaint of dithers, pitching and bumping on the buffers, which insisted in spite of our latest treatment to the springs.

This is a car with a light fabric body, on which cars we have not been successful in curing springing complaints.

I consider the latest springing is a remarkable success, and I would judge it to be one of the best sprung R-R cars I have ever tried.

The only drawback is the increased tendency to steering joggles at speeds over 60 m.p.h. but it did not get into a wobble.

As agreed by you, we are now preparing similar springs for Mrs. Body, and I suggest that we treat this car in just the same way as Clifford Turner's and if it is as successful, we order a few sets of the lower rated front springs to use in similar cases where necessary.

The car was taken away on Friday afternoon, to-take Mr. Clifford Turner to Brighton. The Chauffeur has promised to report later.
