STEERING.

We sent you today a telegram as per confirmation
below :-
HIVES - ROYCAR - DERBY.
RE. STEERING IF WE CAN FIT LOWER EFFICIENCY STEERING
BOX SENT TODAY AND DAMPED PENDULUM LEVER AND REMOVE
ALL OTHER DAMPING FRICTION STEERING WOULD BE SUPERIOR
TO ANYTHING KNOWN. PLEASE RUSH THIS FOR DEMONSTRATION
ON MY CHASSIS NEXT WEEK. ROYCE.

We do not know that this requires any additions,
but as the steering matter is of the utmost importance since
we have so increased the speed of the EAC.I think this combin-
ation should be put through with the utmost speed.

I have every confidence that if anything can be
done, this will do it. The box alone would have considerable
effect, but to avoid steering wobbles it may require the
damper lever also. I am seeing how this can be applied to
existing cars.

R.{Sir Henry Royce}
