1379. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Absent. BP. from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls}4/R.18.7.39. With reference to our conversation with BP/Yl. re Streamlined B.27.LE belonging to Mons. Embricos, this car is in England on a French Triptique which expires to-morrow. It has been decided that we are going to keep the car in England, and that Sales will sell it over here. It is necessary, therefore, to pay duty on the French built body. Will you please arrange this with the Customs immediately. We have obtained the following information which the R.A.C. Secretary said would be needed in his letter of the 15th July - Ref: FAS/ES:- (1) Original cost of the body work 57,000 francs. The invoice is now in the post from Paris. (2) Estimated present value of the complete car £1,300. Estimated present value of the body £200. Sr. sent us the first of these figures, and the latter two have been confirmed by Ely. over the telephone. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
