To H.S. From G.W.H. 87941 Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre. France. 29.6.31. RE. LOOSE SHOCK DAMPER LEVERS. We have again come across a loose shock damper lever. The cause is, the male serrations project through the lever with the consequence that however tight the nut is, the lever remains slack. In our case we have had to fit a washer to clear the male serrations so that the nut tightened up the lever on the serrations. We also note that the serrations in the lever are not at right angles with the faces of the lever. We presume that when the serrations are broached, the lever is not held in a correct position for the alignment. We draw your attention to these facts so that they can be remedied in production as there are numerous cases in service of these shock damper levers being loose. Mr. Both in the D.O. is I believe, tackling this job, possibly the above information may be of value to him. G.W.H. G.W.Hancock. | ||
