HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}3/AM.10.30. RE : BIJUR DRIP PLUGS. We should like to draw your attention to the failure of the drip plugs as received from the production stores. We have had occasion to fit up a chassis with new bijur plugs and booked out two S.2 plugs. These failed to pass more than one or two drops of oil for one pump of the bijur pump instead of a minimum of six. We had to obtain six Bijur plugs to get two to pass the required amount of oil. We herewith send you the four drip plugs which are not correct. It would appear that failures of this kind are being fitted to production cars and will cause failure of lubrication. We had a fair example of this on 23-EX, several Bijurs being found to be defective which were thought at the time to be due to the plugs becoming choked after fitting but with the evidence above it is quite probable that the plugs were not right in the first instance.
