"Vee" Formation Pipe. Single Downdraught Carburettor. Fig. 5. Same results as those in Test No. 3 (Fig. 5). Available Heat from our standard arrangements. (1) Water Hot-Spot. Tick-Over. Circulating water at 80°C. Effective temperature on inside of pipe = 80°C. At 1000-2000 r.p.m. circulating water at 80°C. effective temperature on inside of pipe = 65°C. (2) Exhaust Hot-Spot. (Bentley cyl. head - centre tapping). For this test the centre exhaust port had to be completely blanked at tick-over speeds, with the result that all the exhaust from the two centre cylinders was being passed through the jacket of the induction pipe. Result. Tick-Over. Effective temperature on inside of pipe = 56°C. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/C.T.Salt. | ||
