Camshafts.

We have now what we believe to be a satisfactory camshaft which is to ces forms Led.3223 having a shortened toe and 107o between the cams. The difference between the performance with these cam forms, and the previous ones will be seen from comparing curves B on Rn.{Mr Robinson}Pr.34 with B. on Rn.{Mr Robinson}Pr.33. The loss in top HP. is not more than 4% while the gain in low speed M.E.P. is 7% at 1000 R.P.M. Slow running between 250 & 300 R.P.M. can be obtained.

General Power Improvement Progress.

Curve Rn.{Mr Robinson}Pr.34 shows the general improvement that has so far been made in Peregrine power output. The low speed however has been increased 15% from 1000 to 3000 R.P.M. whilst still retaining a top Hp. of over 70. The main items of improvement have been, Short toed Camshaft, Long reach plugs, small inlet valves, flexible pistons and Turbulent head.
