It is designed to be used as a vertical or horizontal carburettor & the float chamber can be fixed either left or right hand side. An extra air valve would be a simple addition if found necessary. The phosphor bronze spring attached to one of the throttles for starting & slow-running is satisfactory, but could be improved by boring one throttle out on the face & arranging for it to remain stationary until the other throttle lift it. I might mention that I also have an idea for a slide valve engine which I think would be very satisfactory. Would you be prepared to consider the design when finished. I forgot to put my signature to my last letter to you, for which I apologise I am Yours Faithfully Stephen R.{Sir Henry Royce} Townsend. | ||
