that it is our job, together with the coachbuilder, to put the car right and that we mean to do so; we will therefore immediately get into touch with the coachbuilder and mutually work together for this end.

It is not for me to suggest or request that you should give similar instructions to your officials, but I believe you will agree that some such mutual arrangement between us is very desirable, as the more we work together in absolute harmony, the better it will be for the future prosperity of our respective companies.

I know you will accept this letter in the entirely friendly spirit in which it is written, as it is solely with a view to all our officials pulling together on a satisfactory and happy basis in future, and refraining from any risk of doing harm to the reputation or good will of either Company.
