Burt - Engineer}-159....H.Lebus. ------- You will be receiving a Customer's Complaint Form from 'N' in respect of 3-BT{Capt. J. S. Burt - Engineer}-159. They have had a good deal of trouble owing to the battery becoming completely flat, and the dynamo not charging. The driver changed all the fuses, but without success. He was, however, able to crawl to London at slow speed on the side lamps from Bedfordshire. The trouble was traced to the voltage regulator. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} would like to know what is the difference in the voltage regulator fitted to the Phantom III of the original type from the voltage regulator that we have used on other chassis for some two or three years, and which we believe was always satisfactory; and therefore why we departed from this. I understand that the voltage regulator on the above car has been changed to one of the latest type. I shall be glad if you will please look into this matter. (Handwritten note) The same type of regulator has been used from the beginning but the setting of the regulators has been C. raised on two occasions, with a view to increasing the output: but this applied to all cars.
