For Mr. Swindley. Mr. Rudolph. Copies to. c. to E.H. c. to Mr. [illegible] X3152 EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}2/P25717. RE. WATER PUMP ENAMELLING. Some considerable time ago, I complained of the present unsatisfactory enamelling of the pumps, and I understand instructions were issued for all future pumps to be enamelled with Copal varnish, similarly as was done to the aluminium induction pipes (R.A.F. engines). I also understood that experiments were being made with a special black enamel. I am rather surprised, however, that there seems to be no move, as far as the Works are concerned, in this direction, although I understand instructions have been issued by the D.O. to this effect. I should be glad if this matter could be taken up immediately, and no further pumps built up unless the improved enamelling is done. Arrangements should also be made that the pumps which are sent in for attention, and which come in on engines for repair, should be dealt with in a similar manner. Will the D.O. please instruct accordingly. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} R.R. 235 a (100 L) (S.C.) 536. 15-2-16) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 1646 | ||
