Dear Commander,

I am writing you on the subject of oil for the sump, and also petrol. I am in the habit of using either Shell or B.P. Ethyl, and for the sump Duckham's Oil of the grade that they recommend for each special car. You will probably know whether these will be sui[handwritten 'j' over 't']ble. If not, one of your experts will tell you, and I should be much obliged if you would let me know if they are; because then I can go on as usual.

Now that you have finished the book I hope it is never on your shelves as it is the most [strikethrough]lendable[/strikethrough] book I have ever come across.

My wife and I went down to Freestone & Webb's yesterday to settle a lot of details. They are getting on very well, so we are looking forward to delivery on the 31st December as Webb expects to finish on the [handwritten: 20th], and then I believe your people take over for tests.

Trusting you flourish,

Yours sincerely,
