WYMAN Noted "WRAITH" EXHAUST JOINTS. Much difficulty is encountered in making satisfactory joints at the Front and Rear Silencer and Swan Neck joints of the above Chassis, due to the fact that a metal flanged joint without a washer is specified. The trouble can however be overcome by introducing a "Corrujoint" washer at the joints in question, such washers already giving satisfactory service on the Manifold Downtake joint on Wraith and Phantom III. This matter is of an urgent nature, since fumes are likely to enter the Body from leaks at these points, furthermore great expense and inconvenience is incurred in dismantling and correcting faulty joints. Admittedly, metal to metal flanged joints have been used for a considerable time on Bentley and Phantom III. Exhaust Systems, we are now endeavouring to remove any necessity for hand work, and put forward the above suggestion to eliminate hand facing and corrections. Will you please therefore instruct suitable "Corrujoint" washers for the flanges in question as quickly as possible, whilst similar washers should also be considered for Phantom III.
