BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 48774 R4/M17.9.27. RE. SPORTS PHANTOM. X. 8774 X. 8090 We are proposing to use rollerless tappets of 1" radius, same dia. of camshaft and lift and rockers. We want new cam form for such tappets to give valve lift curve equal to present exhaust - LeC.1882, but slightly long - viz: 57 divisions instead of 56, between the beginning and finish of the heavy acceleration - i.e. .013 clearance: this should give. [Hand-drawn diagram of a circle with lines dividing it, marked with numbers '3' and '45'] Probably use a few degress later. Will you get your specialist working on this. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
