Hsl/LG19.3.25.

44-PK CAR.

We are arranging that 44-PK car with Driver (Bagley) shall leave Derby tomorrow morning in time to arrive at Adelphi Terrace at 12-o'clock midday.

Since this car was last tried in London, the following modifications have been made :-

1. New pistons.
These are the latest type die-cast which have been strengthened since the failure in France. They are the pistons agreed to in CJ1/M13.3.25.

2. The fit of the gudgeon pin has been modified to overcome gudgeon pin knocks.

3. New piston rings have been fitted to reduce the oil consumption.

4. New tappets have been fitted with modified clearances to reduce noise when the engine is standing.

5. Modified radiator has been fitted with the inlet modified to prevent loss of water.

6. The shutters have been modified to avoid the risk of them sticking.

7. Correct engine guard and undershields are new fitted.

8. The latest type choke valve in exhaust pipe has been fitted.

9. Latest type fan has been fitted.

10. The speedometer has now been re-calibrated so that it reads the exact mileage.

We should like to have this car returned on Monday or Tuesday morning because there are one or two other features we wish to fit to it before we bring it to London again at the end of next week with 93-NK car.
