Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. C.S. Steadman. We now have pleasure in quoting for Thermostat, EB.667, as follows:- 200 Units - to your Drawing, with the exception that we would like to modify the method of charging by introducing a taper sealing peg in place of the countersunk screw shown..............15/- each. In this price we have had to allow considerably more for labour than we would do in the case of a normal thermostat, due to the fact that there is no tolerance on the temperature at which the bellows has to commence movement. As you know it is our custom to fix the temperature at which movement commences at an approximate figure, after which the correct opening of the valve head is obtained by altering the position of the valve head on the screwed spindle. The total bellows travel is therefore greater than the required valve lift. As no such adjustment is permitted in this unit, the time required for charging and testing must exceed very greatly the time required for the same operation in the case of a conventional thermostat. | ||
