For the attention of Mr. Cooper.

Dear Sirs,

We have received a complaint from our Paris Depot concerning the Neoprene Fabric diaphragms which have been expanding and trapping the rollers. In one case five rollers seized after less than 2,000 miles.

The parts used at Paris were fitted with .020" thick annular rings, but it appears that there are no Red Filme Packings fitted between the armature and the diaphragm. Our Mr. Dixon referred to this in his letter ref. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems}1/MH.{M. Huckerby}26.7.39. before he was called up.

We should be interested to know what steps you have taken in this direction.

Yours faithfully,
FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
