1256 EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTC.5/JH. 20th August, 1938. The Light Production Co.Ltd., 60/66 Rochester Row, Westminster. For the attention of Mr. Brooks. Dear Sirs, We are despatching for your attention a batch of piston rings for your attention, which we would like to have tin plated. Also we would like you to supply the following rings tin plated, which you normally supply to our production complete with pistons. E.60820 Comp. ring 40 off. EB.3122 Scraper ring 24 off. Further, a query has arisen about the rings which you normally supply as stated above, to our production. Are these rings made by you, or by Wellworthy. We are contemplating having a complete cylinder block tin plated, for test purposes, in conjunction with our research on cylinder bore wear. We would be much obliged if you would give us your opinion on such an idea. Also we have had on test a cylinder block of material containing .25% chrome. For some reason we have straight away, run into bad oil consumption figures with this particular block. | ||
