SPECIFICATION OF PRODUCTION TESTS

FOR C.A.V. SHUNT DYNAMO REGULATOR UNIT.

Type B2CJ1.

------------

Resistance Unit.

This unit is composed of 26 SW.G. Eureka wire wound non-inductively on a non-metallic tube. It should be ascertained that the wire is in sound condition throughout its length and that no break is likely to occur, particularly at the terminal screws. Any break or loose conection in this unit may cause serious damage to the regulator contacts.

The total value of the resistance, measured between its terminals, should be such that when a current of .5 ampere is passed through it, the P.D. across the resistance should 7.5 -.2 volts i.e. the resistance should be 15.0 -.4 ohms.

Regulator.

In mounting the regulator, care should be taken to ensure that the two screw caps, one at each end carrying a terminal, are not unduly knocked or stressed. Each cap carries a contact, and any distortion of this part may upset the adjustment of the contacts, and consequently the operation of the regulator.
