S/W...EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Re GHW-76...Paris Trials Car. C7/C18.11.32 EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}16/H16.11.32 This chassis is going straight to Paris to be fitted with a body by Kellner. (1) With regard to the handbrake lever, we are already in communication with Paris to see if they cannot arrange for Kellners to so construct their body as to suit our standard levers, as we quite agree with the disabilities you mention. (2) Buttress tyres are standard for use on the Continent because the Silent tyres have been condemned so frequently on the badly cambered and fast roads of France, on account of their road adhesive properties. The only point here is as to whether the new MA-2 tyres would give sufficient road adhesive properties. We do not know whether Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has had any experience of these tyres in France on experimental cars. I shall be interested to know. (3) With regard to the springing, we, of course, simply give the Works particulars and you fit what springs you think most suitable. No doubt this car will not have the low rated springs, because it will be used in France for high speed work. C. | ||
