Preliminary test results on Bakelite Material X.616.B for coil cases, recommending against immediate production use.

We have made preliminary tests on coil cases made in this material and though the results are equally good with Redmanol after moulding, there does not at present appear to be the same tendency to acquire a stable insulation resistance value. Further tests are being made after further baking of the test coil cases, but for the moment we consider it to be taking too great a risk to use this material in production and we recommend that a further quantity of Redmanol be ordered, pending further and more complete tests.
