DYNAMOMETER AT CLAN FOUNDRY.

EJJ. called here today, and inspected our proposed site for the above. There is a building line to be considered which greatly reduces the available land without moving part of the Air Raid shelters, it would be impossible to put the test house in this position. EJJ. also pointed out that to raise the level of the test house to that of the road, coupled with the expense of bringing in the necessary services, would put the cost up out of all proportion to the job.

EJJ. suggests that the site of the cycle shed in front of the Print Room should be considered. There is plenty of space and all services, including the water cooler, are at hand.

His rough estimate to put up the foundations, building, installing the dynamometer and connecting all services was between £800 and £1000.

You may like to discuss this with me and thereafter I can let EJJ. know your decision.

The fact that Clan is built on Clinker etc. has been considered.

The dynamometer itself represents about £700/800.
