(2) without the use of a damper in each case. It seems that the internal damping is much greater in the case of the larger engine, and we wonder if Major Carter has any information on the factors influencing this internal damping. We have done very few vibration experiments lately, due to the urgency of other work, but intend to test - as was suggested - a damper with a flexible drive. When we get these experiments going, we should be pleased to have another visit from Major Carter, to go over some of these points. | ||
