X7250 To B.J. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG16.12.26. PHANTOM RADIATOR WITH INTEGRAL SHUTTERS. X8250 Unfortunately we had not an opportunity of discussing this matter with R.{Sir Henry Royce} during our last visit to WW. Col. Fell's arrival cut short the discussion on cars. We found out however from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} that there is no suggestion at the moment of making another design. The car which Mr. Royce has at Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence with (7-EX) is fitted with a radiator with integral shutters. All new chassis which are being designed including EAC-Vll(which is just completed) are being arranged with radiators with integral shutters. The standardisation sheet has been signed and agreed to by all technical officials at Derby and WW. There is a saving of 15/4d. per car on the cost of the radiator, and a saving of ½ lb. in weight. We therefore recommend that we take up with R.{Sir Henry Royce} direct the question of appearance. In the meantime the adoption of this radiator is held up. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
