X 1894 OyS - G 15221 February 15, 1921 Mr. Claude Johnson, Managing Director, Rolls-Royce Ltd., London, England. X.2894. Attention: Messrs. F.W. Royce and M.F. Clarke. Dear Sir:- Re: Tungsten Contact Points for Magnetos COPY With reference to Mr. Clarke's memo #FC2/T24.1.21 addressed to Mr. Royce, we wish to say that in conversation with the officials of the Bosch Magneto Company here we learned from them that Tungsten contacts cannot be used in magnetos, apparently because of the high amperage; but this metal is perfectly satisfactory in battery ignition, if the current is kept down to about one ampere on a terminal about 1/10" in diameter. Yours truly, ROLLS-ROYCE OF AMERICA, Inc. MO/G Per M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Olley | ||
