X4457 To Roy. {Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} c. EY. EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 3/T23.7.28. BATTERY INDICATOR. With reference to the letter from Messrs. J.H. Wedge & Co. of the 21st inst. (which we return herewith) I do not think we can give our patronage to the use of this instrument to the customers in question, though I do not think we should prevent them from fitting these on their own account. If anything wrong did happen to their electrical system when fitted with one of these instrument, we should not place the blame on the fitting of such instrument, unless the fault were definitely demonstrably due to the fitting of same. In the ordinary way the small continuous current taken by this instrument would be no detriment unless the car is laid up for more than an ordinary time. The position is, therefore, that although we do not definitely advocate the use of such an instrument, we consider that its use is not likely to cause a fault on the system. EFC. {E.
