Armstrong type of bonnet. We gathered from your covering memo for N.Sch.3304 that you were not very happy about the design and were not anxious for it to be proceeded with. We have actually made a small model of the side hinge, the making up of this showed up the difficulties which would be experienced in making up a complete hinge successfully without going to the expense of making jigs and tools to enable the necessary bending operations to be carried out. We are sending you this model for your inspection.

With reference to the question of making production bonnets interchangeable, we understand that the Works have very recently made progress in this direction. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} will reply to this and give full particulars.
