-3- Sft{Mr Swift}/EW1/BH.21.11.38. (3) Bentley 80. Monoblock 3½" bore. As stated, probably 6 sets of castings now being produced, are all you require. If a production set is required the approximate cost................... £480. (4) Bentley 80. Aluminium Monoblock 3½" bore. As we only have scheme drawings of this engine, we assume it is to be identical with Cast Iron type, but we should prefer to see later drawings. Approximate cost................................ £480. The above costs are for first class Mahogany patterns and core-boxes, capable of producing, say 1000 castings or more. Bentley 60. 3½" bore. Completion 6/8 weeks from instructions to proceed. Bentley 80. Aluminium 3½" bore. Completion 8/10 weeks from receipt of final prints, or adequate information. As regards metal patterns and coreboxes, we are not in a position at the moment to promise delivery, owing to our extensive Aero programme, but for all metal you could add 150% to costs. As a compromise we suggest wood and metal, similar to our Merlin production patterns, which must give an added life of at least 100%. Sft{Mr Swift}/EW. | ||
