BOUCHERON We have tightened up the main bearings of this car, but we were unable to fit RR.56 liners owing to not having received the necessary supply from Works. We measured up the set of RR.56 liners which we have in stock for big-ends, but they were found to be unsuitable, as they were not thick enough. Please find attached out 'Report upon Sinkage of Bearings and Alteration to Liners'. We found the surface of the main and big-end bearings to be O.K. After effecting the above work we carried out an oil test, which was satisfactory. We found seven big-end liners to be in a poor condition. These were replaced by new liners of a similar type.
