PHANTOM ENGINE.

Referring to Mr. Royce's memo. R4/M8226., I am working out the particulars referred to, and hope to let you have them some time this week.

They consist of replacing the dog method of holding the exhaust and induction pipes by flanges and studs, this being done with the object of getting a sparking plug on the L.H. side of the engine. On the R.H. side of the engine there would be only one sparking plug hole, and this is pushed into as central a position as possible between the 2 valves.

I am sending you this memo. as I have the impression from your weekly reports that you may have instructed some of the parts which it is proposed to alter.

MADE AT CROXLEY

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
