Row 1: E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 45043/4 38, No. Used: 4, Foundry Scrap: 25, Remarks: 11 scrap in Foundry, blown on Top Face. 9 scrap Top Shell core out of position. 2 scrap on Water Test. 3 scrap on Proof - faulty sections. 9 not tested.

The castings that have been fitted and are on test are unsound as various measures such as plugging, tubing, etc. has been resorted to. Even in the case of the Kestrel Ramp Cylinder Heads, although four are now on test none would be certified as serviceable for flying conditions.
