Further to my note Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}6/P28.5.19., Mr. Johnson has now instructed us that we may complete one set of the temporary radiator shutters for his inspection. He has also agreed to the standardisation of the capillary tube thermometer. I have looked this morning at the designs sent through from West WitteringHenry Royce's home town for these radiator shutters, and feel that these will perhaps be rather noticable, and that we may experience considerable difficulty in persuading Mr. Johnson to accept them. This of course is only my opinion, but it is clear that Mr. Johnson will pass nothing which is at all obstrusive, and I am rather confirmed in the views which I indicated to you in my note Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}6/P28.5.19., that is we must make another serious attempt to design an alternative shutter which is less noticable. We are of course proceeding with the manufacture of one set of shutters to the West WitteringHenry Royce's home town design.
